Biography

Tay Kewei, born on August 18, 1983, is a Singaporean singer-songwriter who performs in English, Chinese, and Japanese. She began her career as a backup vocalist and erhu player for renowned Chinese pop stars including Wang Leehom, David Tao, A-Mei, and JJ Lin, touring internationally with them. After initially participating in Project SuperStar in 2006, she decided to pursue a full-time music career.

Kewei released her debut indie EP KEEP! in 2009 with keyboardist Lee Ein Ein, followed by her first label album Come Closer With... Kewei in September 2010. Her career highlights include topping Japanese charts with Piano Ballads featuring Kewei in 2014, participating in Singapore's National Day Parade 2014, and performing at major national events like SEA Games 2015. In May 2016, she was awarded the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award by Junior Chamber International Singapore under Cultural Achievement, recognizing her significant contributions to Singapore's cultural landscape.

She has released seven full-length albums and one EP, with her music achieving regional success across Asia. Kewei married fellow singer Alfred Sim in January 2015, and together they have three sons.
