Biography
Lily Goh is a Deaf Singaporean artist, entrepreneur, and community leader who has become a pioneering advocate for the Deaf community. She was diagnosed with profound deafness in both ears at the age of two, and has only 10 percent hearing ability. Despite these challenges, she has built an extraordinary career as a Deaf arts and music practitioner-artiste and Singapore Sign Language facilitator. She is the founder of ExtraOrdinary Horizons, a platform dedicated to teaching Singapore Sign Language directly from the Deaf community.
Lily was honored as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World (TOYP) Singapore in 2017 by Junior Chamber International (JCI) Singapore in the category of Humanitarian and/or Voluntary Leadership. This prestigious recognition highlighted her exceptional contributions to promoting inclusivity and empowering the Deaf community. She has been instrumental in promoting arts, culture, heritage, language, and music within the community, fostering inclusivity throughout Singapore through her work with the Singapore Association for the Deaf and other organizations.
As a multi-award-winning artist, Lily has achieved numerous milestones including winning the Singapore Woman Award in 2014, becoming the first Deaf participant to advance through two rounds of Singapore Idol in 2004, and being the first Deaf degree-holder in Sociology from Singapore University of Social Sciences in 2020.
