Biography
Foo Jierong is a Singaporean educator and singer known for his dual career in education and music. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from NTU/NIE and has dedicated over 25 years to teaching and tutoring, previously working as a teacher at Swiss Cottage Secondary School and with the Ministry of Education. His educational career has been distinguished by his work with over 3000 students throughout his career, achieving exceptional results with 98% of his mathematics students scoring A grades.
In 2015, Foo Jierong was recognized with the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Singapore Merit Award in the Academic Leadership and Accomplishment category. His contributions to education have been further acknowledged through multiple awards, including the MOE Inspiring Teacher Award in 2014 and the STOMP Star Teacher Award in 2011. He was also nominated for the prestigious President's Award for Teachers.
Beyond his educational achievements, Foo Jierong has established himself as a performing artist, earning recognition as the People's Association Battle of The Voices Champion and receiving the Best Popular Singer Award in 2016. He collaborated with renowned music producers to release a Chinese album in 2011, distributed by EQ Music. Currently, he operates his own tuition consultancy, continuing his mission to help students excel in mathematics and other subjects while maintaining his artistic pursuits.
