Biography

Dr. Wesley Zheng is a Singaporean entrepreneur and scientist who received the Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) Singapore Honoree award in 2018 for Scientific and/or Technological Development. He represented Singapore at the global TOYP World Awards, where he was recognized among nine individuals for outstanding achievements in their field of work and contribution to the community.

Wesley holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Energy Storage from Stanford University, where he conducted research under Nobel laureate Professor Steven Chu and Professor Yi Cui. He also earned B.A. and M.A. degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge. His research work focused on developing high-capacity electrodes for next-generation lithium batteries, and he was a recipient of the Material Research Society Graduate Student Award and the National Science Scholarship from A*STAR.

Currently serving as Co-Founder and CEO of Posh, a YC-backed startup focusing on sustainable battery development and EV battery recycling automation, Wesley previously co-founded Volansi (YC W'17), a high-payload drone delivery company that raised $75 million in venture funding before being acquired by Sierra Nevada Corporation. Before his entrepreneurial journey, he worked as a Scientist at A*STAR and served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore. He was named an Innovator Under 35 by MIT Technology Review in 2018.
