Biography

Dr Pan Zhengxiang Jedi, PBM, is a Research Scientist, Program Director and Alumni Mentor (Consultant) at Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU), where he focuses on AI and ageing technology innovations to enhance the dignity of seniors. A self-described innovator and servant leader with over 15 years of community and technology leadership, he holds a PhD (Interdisciplinary — Ageing Technology, New Media & Public Policy) from NTU and has completed executive education in Disruptive Innovation Strategy at Harvard Business School Online.

Achievements

JCI Singapore TOYP Honoree – Scientific and/or Technological Development (2017) — recognised by Junior Chamber International for his contributions in applying technology to serve community and national needs.

Public Service Medal (Pingat Bakti Masyarakat, PBM) — conferred by President Mdm Halimah Yacob on Singapore’s 55th National Day (2020) for commendable public service.

Nanyang Outstanding Young Alumni Award, NTU (2021) — recognised for accomplishments as an innovator and for sustained contributions to society.

Singapore IT Youth Leader Award (under age 25) — personally complimented by then-Minister Lui Tuck Yew (MICA) for innovativeness in transforming lives through technology.

Six consecutive years, Citizens’ Consultative Committee (CCC) Most Outstanding Grassroots Leader Award and the 15 Years Community Long Service Award presented by Minister Chan Chun Sing.

Top 8 Young Scientists, Global Young Scientists Summit (2016) — invited to present innovation to President Dr Tony Tan, Nobel Laureates, and Turing Award winners; featured twice in New Scientist magazine for AI and environmental innovation.

Microsoft Star of Tomorrow Award — earned during his internship at Microsoft Research Asia, Beijing; met with Bill Gates during the programme.

MINDEF Outstanding Work Improvement Team Award — inventor of the multi-award-winning Innovative Pass Verification System (iPVS) worth over S$800,000, enhancing national security during National Service.

Inventor, World’s 1st Youth Olympic Games iChat System — innovation commended by the Youth Olympic Games and Asian Youth Games organising committees.

Harvard University Model United Nations — the only Singaporean appointed Senior Vice President of Google (Publicity & Communications) at the prestigious Specialized Agency conference.
