Biography

Vanessa Tan is an executive communication strategist who graduated with an Executive MBA from the University of Oxford and holds a Master in Social Sciences with a specialisation in philanthropy from the National University of Singapore. She was recognized as a JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World (Singapore) Merit Award recipient in 2015 for her Contribution to Children, World Peace, and/or Human Rights.

She specializes in integrated communications, crisis communications and philanthropy with over 13 years of experience in the field. A former Head of Public Relations at award-winning PR and marketing agencies, she has worked with both local and multinational commercial clients while helping numerous resource-scarce nonprofits raise much-needed publicity and funds by improving their communications and fundraising capabilities.

Vanessa currently serves as a Chairperson for the Fundraising Committee of Samaritans of Singapore, an established mental health and suicide prevention agency. She has also completed a PhD in Communications & Information at NTU and is a member of the Forbes Communications Council, where she shares thought leadership on executive communications and strategic communications.
