Biography
Peter Draw, born Peter Zhuo Ying Wei in July 1984, is a Singaporean artist and digital creator who fell in love with drawing at age 3. After being rejected from an art class at age 6 for not holding his pencil correctly, he was encouraged by his grandfather to continue pursuing his artistic dreams. He received recognition as a TOYP Singapore Honoree in 2018 for his Contribution to Children, World Peace, and Human Rights, making him the first and only repeat recipient of the award since its introduction in 1984, having previously won in 2008.
Peter is the founder of HappWhy Brands and creator of the globally popular digital characters Ai & Aiko, which have garnered over 65 billion views on GIPHY and achieved viral success. He holds four Guinness World Records, including the World's Largest Caricature Drawing (2007), World's Largest Art Lesson (2010), and two records for longest drawings (2014). His character Ai was created after his grandfather's passing to illustrate the transformation from sorrow to love, with the name representing both meanings in Chinese.
Through his philanthropic work, Peter has traveled to over 20 countries including China, Costa Rica, Indonesia, Japan, South Africa, and across Southeast Asia, providing free art lessons to children in disaster-stricken areas and impoverished communities. He runs the Little Draws program where he teaches children to draw portraits and bring joy to others. Peter is represented by WME globally and is developing his characters into books, TV shows, films and toys, with the first picture book 'Ai & Aiko and The Little Curve' set to debut in summer 2025.
