Biography
Reverend Ho Yeow Sun, better known as Sun Ho, is a Singaporean Christian pastor and co-founder of City Harvest Church. She studied at Anglican High School and Victoria Junior College, and started as a pastor when she was 20 years old with her husband Kong Hee, founding City Harvest Church in 1989. She led the church's Creative Department from 1992 until late 2000, when she resigned and relocated to Taiwan to pursue her singing career.
From 2002 to 2007, Ho released five Mandarin pop albums through Warner Music Taiwan, all reaching double or triple platinum status. She also achieved success in the US market, with multiple singles reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Chart. She worked with renowned producers including Wyclef Jean, David Foster, Diane Warren, and others. Her song Starting Point was used as the theme for Singapore TV series Turning Point, which she also hosted.
In 2002, the Junior Chamber of Singapore awarded Ho with The Outstanding Young Person Award. Subsequently, she represented Singapore in the global TOYP ceremony and was awarded The Outstanding Young Person of the World Award in 2003 for her social work in Asia. The ceremony was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, under the auspices of Junior Chamber International. She returned to Singapore from 2010, resumed her pastoral duties, and was ordained as Reverend and Executive Pastor in 2015. In 2018, she co-founded The Harvest Network with Rev Dr Bobby Chaw to help connect like-minded churches in the region.
