Biography

Goh Yihan is a distinguished Singaporean legal professional who currently serves as Deputy Attorney-General of Singapore, appointed in January 2025. Born in 1981, he has built an exceptional career spanning academia, the judiciary, and government service. He graduated as valedictorian from the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law with first class honours in 2006, and obtained his Master of Laws from Harvard Law School in 2010.

Goh's academic career was equally impressive. He joined SMU Yong Pung How School of Law as Associate Professor in 2014, was appointed Associate Dean (Research) in 2016, and became Dean in July 2017 at age 35, making him the youngest person to hold that position. He served as Dean until 2022. His research focuses primarily on contract and tort law, with secondary interests in statutory interpretation and the legal process. He has published numerous books and journal articles, including 'Contract Law in Singapore' and 'Singapore Chronicles: Law'.

In recognition of his excellence in legal scholarship and practice, Goh received the JCI Top 10 Outstanding Young Persons Award in the category of Political, Legal and/or Governmental Affairs in 2015. He also became the youngest recipient of the Singapore Academy of Law's Singapore Law Merit Award in 2013. His judicial career included appointments as Judicial Commissioner in 2022 and Judge of the High Court in 2023, before his current role as Deputy Attorney-General.
