Olivia Choong

Olivia Choong Way Sun is a Singaporean environmental activist and advocate born on February 13, 1979. She is best known for co-founding Green Drinks Singapore in November 2007, a non-profit movement that connects businesses, government bodies, academia, media, NGOs and individuals for knowledge sharing and collaboration opportunities on environmental issues. In 2014, she received the TOYP Singapore Merit Award for Moral and/or Environmental Leadership from Junior Chamber International Singapore.

Choong studied Mass Communications at Murdoch University, majoring in journalism and public relations, and completed a post-graduate diploma in public relations at Curtin University in Western Australia. Prior to her environmental advocacy work, she worked at Hill & Knowlton Singapore in financial communications, consumer PR and corporate communications. In April 2010, she founded Green PR, a public relations consultancy focusing on environmental small and medium enterprises.

In recent years, Choong has expanded her environmental work to include urban farming and sustainable living advocacy. She founded The Tender Gardener to document her sustainable living journey and educate others about gardening, permaculture and self-sufficiency. She currently serves as Chief Garden Storyteller for The Tender Gardener and continues her role as President and Co-founder of Green Drinks Singapore. She also contributes articles to various publications including Eco-Business.com, Green Kampong, and Home & Decor.
