Biography

Ramanathan Thurairajoo is a Singaporean environmentalist and peace advocate who has dedicated his career to environmental leadership and peacebuilding. He was recognized as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Singapore (TOYP) in 2018, receiving the award in the Moral and/or Environmental Leadership category.

Following his TOYP Singapore recognition, Thurairajoo was selected to represent Singapore at the global TOYP World Awards. He has since furthered his commitment to peace and environmental issues by pursuing advanced studies as a Rotary Peace Fellow at the University of Queensland, where he completed a Master of Peace and Conflict Studies (MPACS) and served as a graduate representative on the HASS Faculty-Level Teaching & Learning Committee.

As a Rotary Peace Fellow, Thurairajoo has combined his passion for environmental advocacy with peace and conflict studies, demonstrating how environmental issues intersect with broader questions of peace and development. His work represents the interconnected nature of environmental stewardship and sustainable peace initiatives.
